Let’s Prepare for Your 2026 Event at the Shelbyville Conference Center

Don’t look now, but we’re just 20 days away from being in 2026. This could be the year for your wedding, a signature school reunion, a new conference, a retirement party, or any kind of major event. With each passing second, the big moment is getting closer and Shelbyville Conference Center is ready to welcome you in to celebrate or learn. To prepare for everything you’ll need to get your event in motion, let’s review some benchmarks.

PINPOINT YOUR DATE

We’ll start with an easy one. Identify a good date that will work for your event, but be diligent in locking it down. The Shelbyville Conference Center typically books events at minimum several months before their scheduled date. If you’re trying to secure a Friday or Saturday date, those get reserved even sooner. With holiday parties and gatherings in full swing right now, this is a great time to gauge people’s future plans so you can confidently schedule your event with ample time.

HOW MUCH SPACE WILL YOU NEED?

Our versatile layout means you have options when it comes to reserving space. Our facility is composed of three rooms which can be combined as needed.

Keep in mind if you want to reserve the full facility, this will most likely need to be booked further in advance. Individual rooms are “easier” to secure as long as the date’s not in high demand. If you do have one or two rooms reserved and another event is happening in the other space, don’t worry, you won’t hear them and they won’t hear you thanks to our sliding walls guaranteeing multiple events have privacy. 

CATERING OPTIONS

The last thing you want is a group of hungry people during your event. That’s why our venue is equipped with a state-of-the-art catering kitchen that is included with your rental. We also have an open catering policy that allows you to bring whoever you choose at no cost. If you’re looking for some possibilities, contact us and we’ll provide you a list of top local options. 

LODGING

If your event is going to include attendants traveling from out of the area, rest assured, they’re going to rest easy. Shelby County features a variety of overnight accommodations including name-brand hotels, vacation rentals and bed & breakfasts. The hotels will generally reserve a block of rooms for your party if provided enough notice. Some vacation rentals can hold as many as 20 guests. Bed & breakfasts are fabulous spots for newlyweds or those looking to soak in more of Shelby County’s laid-back lifestyle during their visit. 

EXTRA ITEMS?

We have several add-ons you can include with your event that can take it to the next level. For example, you can have a dance floor added to your wedding, heat lamps on the patio if you plan to use the outside area, and use of the Shelbyville Trolley if you want to provide a fun method of transportation for everyone as they enter or exit the venue.
